Pfizer asks for US authorization for emergency use of covid-19 vaccine

(Reuters) – Pfizer Inc said today that it has asked US health regulators to authorize the emergency use of its covid-19 vaccine, an important step in providing protection against coronavirus to Americans already tired of the pandemic.
The request to the US regulatory body, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), comes just days after Pfizer and German partner BioNTech reported the final results of the trial that showed that vaccine was 95% effective in preventing covid-19.
