‘Perfect’ Orlando Pirates have a decision to make on new player
Orlando Pirates have a new face in training but it’s unclear how coach Jose Riveiro decided to use him for the Buccaneers.
Tshobeni is back in the mix for Orlando Pirates
22-year-old Azola Tshobeni has spent the last three seasons on loan with JDR Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The 22-year-old is training with the senior side and current Betway Premiership leaders. Coach Jose Riveiro must work out how to best use the talented left-footer. The attacking midfielder will need to make the grade this season or else Pirates may believe his ship has sailed.
Youngsters are in healthy supply at Pirates
Relebohile Mofokeng has already surpassed 50 appearances for the club and only turned 20 on October 23rd. Meanwhile, Mohau Nkota recently scored a match-winning brace against AmaZulu in the league.
“For me, it will be a good time for him (Mofokeng) to go overseas. It is the right time and there are things that he would learn if he were to move now at this stage of his career. The more we keep him this side it could mean that we are delaying him. He is 20, and I think it is the right time for him to move if he has to be sold overseas,” said former Bucs development coach Mandla Qhogi.
Upcoming fixtures for the Buccaneers
Riveiro’s men have a trio of league encounters to prepare for in the next five weeks and they’ve also got two tasty Caf Champions League clashes on the horizon. The visit of African champions Al Ahly on 06 December is one to get in the diary. There’s also the prospect of a meeting with Bafana and former Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo when Pirates go up North to face Belouizdad of Algeria.
