Pallaso Claims Credit for TikTok’s Popularity in Uganda
Pallaso has claimed that he played a pivotal role in introducing TikTok to the Ugandan audience. The singer stated that without his early adoption of the app, it might not have gained the immense popularity it enjoys today.
Pallaso highlighted that TikTok’s rise in Uganda was accelerated during the COVID-19 lockdown when many turned to the platform for entertainment.
With daily activities at a standstill, Ugandans began creating and consuming content on TikTok, leading to the discovery of new talents. Many content creators have since turned their TikTok fame into thriving careers, earning from the platform with every post.

According to Pallaso, he was among the first Ugandans to use TikTok at a time when the app was largely unknown in the country. He believes his efforts to showcase the app deserve recognition.
“I am the one that introduced TikTok in Uganda. By the time I started using it, it had been in existence for some time, but Ugandans didn’t know anything about it,” Pallaso said.
“We all know there are people who have started their careers on the app and are earning from it. I need to be appreciated for that, honestly.”
