Otto Addo holds individual talks with Black Stars players after Sudan defeat in AFCON qualifiers

Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has confirmed holding individual discussions with Black Stars players following their disappointing 0-0 draw and 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The setbacks have left the team in a challenging position as they look to secure a spot in the upcoming tournament.Speaking to the media team of GFA after the matches, Coach Otto Addo acknowledged the difficult situation the team is facing, revealing that he has had to hold talks with his players.We had a good talk afterwards, had individual talks with players where we attacked issues and certain things, he said, emphasising the need to address both the teams collective and individual performances. “Everybody was down, and it was really a hard pill to take.”Despite the tough results, Otto Addo remains hopeful that the team can use these experiences to grow and improve.We have a lot of things to learn. I know we as Black Stars represent Ghanaian society. We have to do better, we have to learn in a very painful way, he noted.The coach is confident that the team will use these lessons to bounce back stronger in the future.
