Orlando Pirates defensive target wanted in Italy – reports

Tuks defender Keegan Allan has reportedly drawn attention from Italian clubs on top of being on Orlando Pirates’ wishlist.

The 21-year-old Sundowns academy product played a big part in Tuks promotion push which narrowly failed when Swallows survived the relegation playoff.

Soccer Laduma’s Masebe Qina reports: “After emerging as one of the top performers in the University of Pretoria’s failed promotion bid, former Mamelodi Sundowns development player Keegan Allan has attracted interest from Pirates and a few other clubs in the DStv Premiership.

“However, the 21-year-old has been assessing his options with a view of securing a European move i n his next deal, as confirmed by sources in the know. 

“News reaching the Siya crew is that the centre-back has attracted interest from Italy, with Serie A clubs Hellas Verona and Spezia Calcio understood to be keen on his services for the 2022/23 season.”

The young prospect’s agent Mohammed Lawal has confirmed that local and overseas clubs have expressed an interest in Allan.

“We are aware of the interest in Keegan Allan both locally and internationally. We are working hard to see Keegan taking his career to the next level, be it locally or overseas,” said Lawal.

Orlando Pirates have been busy in the transfer window.

Over the weekend they confirmed the arrival of Bienvenu Eva Nga from Chippa United along with Miguel Timm from Marumo Gallants, as well as Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki from Golden Arrows and AmaZulu respectively.

Orlando Pirates clearly are not done on their recruiting drive and have placed an emphasis on finding promising young players who are first team ready.
