An Orlando Pirates attacker has revealed his intentions to hand in a transfer request in an effort to make a name for himself in the PSL.
Austin Muwowo, who is on loan at Swallows from Pirates until the end of the season, spoke to Isolezwe about his difficult time at Pirates.
In his own words, Muwowo said he didn’t fail at Pirates and that the problem was that he wasn’t given enough game time to prove himself.
Muwowo said former coaches at Pirates in Rhulani Mokwena and Josef Zinnbauer kept on promising him game but never kept their promises.
And now, the Zambian attacker doesn’t think going back to Pirates at the end of the season to fight for his place is ideal.
RHULANI & ZINNBAUER PROMISED ME GAME TIME AT ORLANDO PIRATES – MUWOWO
“I had a difficult time since my arrival from Zambia in 2019. People were expecting a lot. I did everything in my power to prove that I deserved game time at Pirates.
“Coach Rhulani used to tell me that he would play me but he will leave me out of the starting line-up. Then arrived Zinnbauer who asked why I wasn’t playing. He also used to make promises but put me on the bench.”
MUWOWO TO HAND IN TRANSFER REQUEST AT ORLANDO PIRATES
“I didn’t fail at Pirates. I wasn’t given the chance to prove myself. I was given three to five minutes. It was very difficult.
“With the opportunity I’m getting at Swallows, I want to show people that I’m a top player. Even at home, people say I shouldn’t have joined Pirates. They think it’s easy to arrive at a new place and be a regular.”
“I’m going back to Pirates at the season and I will again ask them to loan me out.
