Mpho and Simphiwe’s bodies were found naked , lying meters apart from each other, a day after they were reported missing.

It is reported that the two minors were walking home from a local hair salon at the time of their disappearance.

The death of Mpho and Simphiwe has left their families shattered.

“I think we have to be patient as a family, because this is not just a small case, this is double murder, if they are doing further investigations then it’s fine because there is light at the end of the tunnel and as the family we have to be patient,”said Malatjie

She added that she is not coping with the death of her granddaughter.

”To be honest, I’m not coping at all there are some times when I feel she would be here, especially when I step out in the street,”

“I don’t feel like I should be in the streets, even though we are still in the process of counselling, but I don’t think I will be healed very soon.
To me it is still painful, it is like a part of me has been taken away because she was like my baby.
Even when sitting watching TV, it feels like she’s still around,” Gogo Malatjie added.

Mohlaka will be remanded in custody.

She has been implicated in the death of another minor in the area, Mzwandile Zitho(5).

Zitho’s body was found in between fridges at the local tavern in Mohlanka’s home, the case was temporarily withdrawn.
