Oops! ANC Youth League ‘mixes up’ pic of Springbok winner
The ANC Youth League is accused of making an epic social media blunder after posting the WRONG image of Springbok Pieter-Steph du Toit, who won World Rugby’s Player of the Year award on Sunday.
ANC YOUTH LEAGUE POSTS WRONG PIC?
On the X platform, tweeps called out the ANC Youth League for allegedly posting and swiftly deleting a post congratulating Springbok Pieter-Steph du Toit.
According to users, the political party’s youth division posted an image of a white male with blonde hair who wore a yellow and green shirt.
The post was captioned: “The ANC Youth League congratulates Peter-Steph du Toit (sic) on his sterling achievement in the international stage of the Men’s World Rugby 2024.”
X user @zulu_goku claims that the account deleted the tweet after realising their mistake.
Not only did the ANC Youth League allegedly spell PSDT’s name wrong, but they also posted the image of a man who was NOT the Springbok.
In the comments section, South Africans were tickled pink over the organisation’s epic fail.
Some claimed the image was AI-generated and taken from a website about famous football quotes.

The ANC Youth League has since posted a tweet with the right image and spelling of Springbok Pieter-Steph du Toit.

Meanwhile, Springbok Pieter-Steph du Toit remained humble in his acceptance of the World Rugby’s Player of the Year award.
It’s the second time the 32-year-old has won the award, which he claims is a reflection of the squad’s commitment to cohesion.
He told SuperSport TV after the awards: “To be here is an honour and privilege.
“We’ve got a saying [at the Springboks] that we put your team first in everything you do. So you put your ego in your pocket.
“I think that’s the best thing we can have as a team sport. If the team does well, then the individual does well”.
