ODM challenges party moles to quit
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership in Homa Bay County has dared the party grassroots officials who are campaigning for aspirants in other parties or Independent candidates to quit the movement immediately.
The County Party Coordinating Committee Chairperson, Gladys Wanga, while addressing ODM delegates from the Sub-counties, Tuesday, described the officials as moles and told them to ship out and leave their positions for others who are ready to work for the party.
“If you know that you are a mole in the party, campaigning for aspirants in other parties and the Independents, just quit to avoid bringing division in the party,” challenged Wanga.
The ODM county gubernatorial flag bearer said that it is high time all ODM party officials who were supporting various aspirants within the Party before last month’s party primaries, bury their differences and work as a team in ensuring that the party garners majority seats in the August polls.
“Even if you were supporting a candidate in the Party who lost in the nominations, please let us bury the differences so that we can soldier on to garner more seats in the coming General Elections, “she said.
Her running mate, Joseph Oyugi Magwanga, warned the aspirants who were awarded the nomination tickets, to stop celebrating since there is still a tough war ahead of them, because of the strong wave of the Independent candidates.
“I am urging the fellow candidates who won at the primaries, to stop celebrating too much because certificates are just papers, wake up from your comfort zones, because our rivals are not sleeping,” said Magwanga.
Meanwhile, an Independent candidate in the gubernatorial race, Evans Kidero, has said that he was optimistic about victory. He said the electorate will rise above party politics and vote for the best leader on the ballot, no matter the circumstances.
“I was moved when I saw women, young men and the elderly walk long distances in solidarity with our team, a gesture which shows that they are ready to rise above any situation, to choose their best leader,” noted Kidero.
