A former governorship candidate in Imo State and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uche Nwosu, has condoled with the people and governor of Borno State, Umara Zulum, over the killing of 43 farmers by the Boko Haram terrorists in Kwashebe Zamarmari in Jere Local Government Area of the State.

Nwosu called for collaborative action to end the killings and restore peace in the state, adding that Borno State was once known for its peacefulness and hospitality.

According to him, “my heartfelt condolences to governor Zulum and the entire people of Borno State on the tragic death of 43 rice farmers in Kwashabe village of that State.

“I am particularly pained by this death because of its personal significance to me. As one who grew up and had part of my secondary education in Gubio, which is few kilometers away from Kwashabe, I still remember with nostalgia, the peacefulness and hospitality of Borno.

“But all that seem to have been consumed by flames of violent hate and savagery of terrorists, who derive joy in spilling the blood of innocent and vulnerable people.

“I pray passionately for peace to be restored to Borno and for these killings to stop”.
