NSA is still in charge of TnA Park, confirms Sports Ministry spokesman Charles Amofa

Sports Ministry spokesman Charles Amofa has confirmed that the National Sports Authority (NSA) remains in charge of managing TnA Park in Tarkwa, despite recent developments suggesting otherwise. This statement comes in response to the decision by Tarkwa Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Bernard Kessie to form a committee to oversee the park’s management, citing concerns over the NSA’s track record in maintaining sports facilities across Ghana.Amofa clarified that TnA Park was initially under the NSA’s management and was recently renovated by Gold Fields Ghana Limited, a company committed to social responsibility in the Tarkwa community.”TnA Park was a facility under National Sports Authority under our management our staff were there years ago just about three years ago and Gold Fields Ghana Limited has a foundation that does social responsibility for communities and societies. So they (Gold Fields) approached National Sports Authority that they want to upgrade the TnA Park in all this Hon. Mireku Duker MP for Tarkwa facilitated all these,” he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.com”So in short after the renovation and Gold Fields three weeks to the time they were doing consultation because they took the facility from the National Sports Authority and they renovated it. It was their intention that it has to go back to the organization that they took the facility from to do the renovation so they came to the NSA through the MP’s facilitation and we all handed over the facility to the National Sports Authority.”What I will say is that our staff are still on the ground and in this Ghana we use laws to doing everything NSA is still in charge of TnA Park. There has been a letter of assurance that we will manage the facility with the municipal assembly,”
