NPP Shakes Offinso South

NPP members in the Offinso South Constituency during the health walk

ALL ACTIVITIES in the Offinso South Constituency in the Ashanti Region came to a standstill following a mammoth health walk organised by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to attract votes.

More than 3,500 active members of the party, who were clad in the red, white and blue colours of the political party, took part in the walk, which has been described as the biggest in the history of the constituency.

The walk started from the Namong SDA through to Amoowi, Ampabame, Dentin, Aboaso, Kokote, Maase, Mpehi, Boaso, Dome, Agric, New Town, Asamankama and ended at Denton Primary School Park.

Top party gurus in the area including Atuobi Yiadom aka ‘Bantama’, the NPP Constituency Chairman in the area and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate (PC) in the constituency, Dr. Isaac Yaw Poku, were present.

Significantly, Ben Abdellah Banda, the sitting NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso South and Solomon Kesse, the Offinso Municipal Chief Executive and other party bigwigs in the constituency were also present.

The NPP leadership in the Offinso South Constituency used the historic occasion to officially welcome 30 National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the area who have defected to the ruling NPP.

Atuobi Yiadom, the Offinso South NPP Chairman, welcoming the NDC members, said they have taken a wise decision to cross carpet to the NPP, which is the suitable party to manage the affairs of the country.

He charged the NPP members, especially those that have defected from the NDC, to uphold hard work and also sacrifice for the party, reminding them that the NPP is noted for handsomely rewarding its loyal members.

Ben Abdellah Banda, the Offinso South NPP MP, called for total support from every member of the party for Dr. Yaw Opoku, the NPP PC for the area, stressing that the NPP must retain power on December 7.

Dr. Yaw Opoku said the unity in the NPP in the area should be protected to ensure electoral victory, adding that as MP, he would provide jobs and also lobby for cocoa roads to be constructed in Offinso South.
