Notorious land fraudster faces court in Ksh 60M Nyali property scam
A notorious land fraud suspect was arraigned at the Mombasa Chief Magistrate’s Court after being on the run.
The accused, Fuad Yusuf Muhamud, appeared before Chief Magistrate Alex Ithuku. He faced charges alongside his two co-accused, Simon Mwaura Njenga and Abraham Burundu Nyangoto, who were absent from court.
The three are accused of forging land documents on June 5, 2024, to fraudulently deprive Meena Bhagwanda Patel of her parcel of land, MN/1/3239, valued at Ksh 60 million.
The suspects are also alleged to have created a fake succession and forged documents at the Mombasa Lands Registry to facilitate the illegal acquisition of Patel’s Nyali property, which measures 0.1920 hectares.
Muhamud denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 1 million with one surety of a similar amount.
The Chief Magistrate issued warrants of arrest against Njenga and Nyangoto, who remain at large.
The case is set for mention on December 9, 2024, for further directions.
