Nkotompo Missing Baby Found

The two-week-old baby who was allegedly sold by the mother at Nkotompo, near Sekondi in the Western Region, has been found.
This follows a publication in last Monday’s edition of DAILY GUIDE about the arrest of the 35-year-old mother of six for allegedly selling the baby boy.
According to information gathered, an unknown person went and placed the baby boy wrapped in a cloth at the doorsteps of the mother, Mena Efua, at Nkotompo.
Confirming the story to journalists, the elder sister of Mena Efua, Maame Esi, indicated that at about 1am on Tuesday, someone came and knocked on her door and told her that a baby wrapped in a cloth has been found at the doorsteps of her younger sister.
“So I quickly rushed there and realised that it was the baby who had gone missing. We still do not know who brought the baby,” she said.
She disclosed that a lady’s bag, which contained baby’s food, some drugs and a bottle of water, was placed beside the baby.
She pointed out that even though the baby boy looked healthy, the police gave her a form to send the baby to the hospital, adding, “For now I am taking care of the baby.”
The Unit Committee Chairman of Nkotompo, Emmanuel Barnes, confirmed that the person who dropped the baby left a bag which contained a note.
“We have handed over everything we found in the bag to the police to assist in investigations. For now, whoever dropped the baby remains mysterious. We have left all in the hands of the police to investigate,” he noted.
Currently, the mother, Mena Efua and the female intermediary, Aisha, are in police custody assisting in further investigations.
