Newcastle attack Premier League
Newcastle and Mike Ashley still have not digested. The Magpies announced Thursday via an official statement, to have launched an arbitration procedure against the Premier League following the abortive takeover of the club by a Saudi fund. As a reminder, a consortium led by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, associated with two British investment companies PCP Capital Partners and Reuben Brothers, had decided to withdraw its offer of 330 million euros last July.
Tired of the sling caused by this potential takeover, in particular of beIN Sports and human rights defenders, but also by the mistakes of the Premier League on the subject, the latter finally retracted. Majority shareholder Mike Ashley therefore counter-attacks and announces the opening of arbitration proceedings against the Premier League. The Magpies, however, refused to give more details on the precise content of this procedure.
