About Norse Atlantic Airways

Norse Atlantic is a Norwegian low-cost long-haul airline based in Arendal, Norway.

The airline was founded in February 2021 and its first flight was in June 2022 from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Contrary to a common misnomer, Norse is a new airline separate from Norwegian Air, as reported by Forbes. In January 2021, Norwegian liquidated its long-haul flight subsidiaries due to the pandemic, and Norse Airways stepped in to fill the market gap.

The new service between London and Cape Town will be Norse Atlantic’s first destination in Africa.

“We are thrilled to introduce our new route between London and Cape Town. By breaking the duopoly on this route, we are not only expanding travel options for consumers but also driving down costs and putting the customer back in the pilot’s seat.”
Bjorn Tore Larsen, Norse chief executive and founder

What types of ticket options are available?

Norse Atlantic Airways economy cabin offers different types of fares based on the flexibility you need. Their cheapest option – Economy Light – gives you the basics only, i.e., you only pay for what you need.

It is important to note that meals are not included in the fare. There are buy-on-board food and drinks available. Meals can also be pre-ordered. Meals are served after take-off and prior to landing.

The airline offers three types of economy class tickets varying according to what is included and excluded:
