In a statement, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, stated: “The relief supplies, donated by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, under the Renewed Hope Initiative, were airlifted by the NAF’s C-130 Hercules aircraft from Abuja to Maiduguri.”

The supplies included food items, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, aimed at providing much-needed assistance to communities in Maiduguri affected by the 10 September flood disaster.

The relief materials were received by senior NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, before being handed over to the Borno State Government for distribution to the flood victims.

“This mission underscores the NAF’s commitment to providing timely humanitarian assistance, especially in regions severely impacted by natural disasters,” the statement added.

The collaboration between the First Lady’s office and the NAF demonstrates the importance of collective efforts to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the floods in Borno State.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to ongoing airlift missions, the NAF has launched a medical outreach program to support flood victims and has provided food assistance to over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons during the crisis.
