Muhoozi Launches Radio Station in West Nile; Warns Against Domestic Violence

Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of Special Operations, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has this Saturday officiated at the opening of the radio-Voice of Madi in Madi Kollo district-West Nile.

Muhoozi, who was accompanied by his wife Ms Charlotte Kainerugaba, applauded the people of Madi for their “strong support to the government and the UPDF especially when we had operations in the area.”

The host and area MP, Hon Joan Okia, government officials and other senior leaders from the West Nile general area attended the function.

Muhoozi thanked Hon Okia for “bringing the very first radio in Madi” and encouraged the people to use it to “foster economic development in their area as opposed to hate programs and discrimination.”

He also called on the people of West Nile to utilize the vast land for farming and other economic development activities that can change and improve their homestead livelihoods.

He said now that Arua city was going to have an industrial park, “technical education is very important for the youth of West Nile if they are to benefit from employment opportunities in the industrial park.”

Muhoozi also announced a contribution of Shs 30m to Inde Technical Institute in Madi Kollo.

The money is to equip the institute with modern equipment.

Muhoozi also cautioned his fellow men against domestic violence which is very rampant in Madi area.

He said he has been married for 23 years to Charlotte but he has never touched her.

“You should pick a leaf,” said Muhoozi.
