Recently it’s become clear that Al Ahly are set to offer Pitso Mosimane a new contract.
In a statement released by Al Ahly, director of transfers Amir Tawfik confirmed that the club wants Mosimane to continue leading the team.
And what everybody knows is that Mosimane doesn’t have the intentions to leave Al Ahly, at least for now, despite huge criticism from a section of the club fans.
Furthermore, Tawfik said a later date (no longer Tuesday) has been set to discuss Mosimane’s new contract.
“The club wants Mosimane to continue leading the team,” said Tawfik in the statement.
A longer contract increases the team’s stability. There will be a meeting between club president Mahmoud El-Khatib and Mosimane to discuss the new contract at a later date,” added Tawfik.
Just recently, Al Ahly president Mahmoud El-Khatib revealed that Mosimane has never asked for a salary increase in his demands for the new contracts.
However, he made it clear that the 57-year-old mentor deserved it due to the work he has done and continues to do at Al Ahly.
As things stand, Mosimane is reported to be on a R54-million worth contract with Al Ahly which expires in October 2022.
