Missing teen girls found, reveal that they were never abducted

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives have tracked down the seven girls who allegedly went missing. The seven girls emerged yesterday. They dismissed allegations that a caucasian male had abducted them.

On Friday at around 4 pm, DCI’s Child Protection Unit detectives announced that they had rescued three of the girls who were among those that had gone missing.

The girls said that they were simply bored with staying indoors since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country in March. Natalie, one of the seven girls, said that she only went back home because people started trolling them.

“I would not be here if it were not for the angle the whole thing has taken on social media, with people trolling us,” Natalie said.

The case of the seven girls missing came to the limelight after the cousin of one of the girls posted a video on Twitter. In the video, she appealed to Kenyans to help them trace the girls, who she believed were victims of sex trafficking.

Natalie said that they did not know that their situation would escalate as much as it did. In fact, they had planned to go on another getaway. Additionally, she said that their relatives had overreacted.

“I’m sure if Shanice (one of the other missing girls) were to see this video, she would just laugh it off because she does not care,” Natalie said.

Natalie also revealed that Shanice Muoka, the girl whose cousin posted the video, has a habit of disappearing whenever she felt like.

“She calls one of us, and we beg her to return home. We know each other’s contacts off-head,” Natalie revealed.

‘Analogue parents’

The girls claimed that their parents are analogue and that they do not understand them. The mother to Shanice claims that she still suspects a group of human traffickers in the area are recruiting young girls.
