David Bahati, the State Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives has paid a courtesy visit at Katuna border and assessed the construction progress of the one stop border post and trade between Uganda and Rwanda.
Bahati lauded President Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame for reopening the border as he asked the traders to resume from where they had stopped when the border was closed 3 years ago.

He also reassured health officials from both governments will soon harmonize the cost covid 19 PCR Test that has become a challenge to travelers
Bahati says once the one stop border is done there will be no need to make double checks at both sides of the border.
The Rwandan government reopened the Gatuna/Katuna border on 31st January 2022 following its closure on February 27th, 2019.
