Jinja, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | The dean of studies at the National Defense College-Uganda-NDC Kefa Nangeso has tasked officers to apply all the skills learned from trainings in their respective areas of deployment.

He made the remarks on Saturday at the graduation of 101 military officers, who completed their four months’ Grade III staff course at the Jinja city’s based Junior staff college in Njeru.

Nangeso argues that, UPDF has evolved as a professional force, which has injected resources in trainings and the value of such investments can only be realized through exhibition of professionalism by the beneficiaries of the courses.

Nangeso notes that, the professional ratings of UPDF are recognized across the world and each individual officer should align with such standards as the main key qualification for remaining relevant to the force.

Nangeso implored officers to gracefully embrace all available training opportunities as necessary drivers for their journey to professionalism and career growth in their military undertakings.

The Junior staff commandant, Brig. Chris Ogwal says that, the training has been intense and involving a lot of sacrifice from the participants, urging them to undertake all the values instilled in them for effective service delivery within their respective units.

Ogwal further hailed the UPDF leadership for prioritizing trainings as it is the core of the force’s sustainability from one generation of service to another.
