Michael Antonio backs Mohammed Kudus to rebound strongly from red card suspension
West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has backed his teammate Mohammed Kudus to bounce back strongly from a recent red card suspension. The Black Stars midfielder was sent off against Tottenham on October 19 after an altercation with Spurs players, marking a difficult return to the Premier League following the international break.Initially handed a three-game ban, Kudus saw his suspension extended to five games by the English FA, along with a 60,000 fine. The extended suspension has sidelined Kudus for matches against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton, and he will also miss West Hams upcoming fixtures against Newcastle United (November 25) and Arsenal (November 30).”Starboy, his quality to be fair, he’s an unbelievable player. How he dribbles, he scores goals, he has great ambition for himself, and hopefully, we can get some players like that from our academy.Well, obviously, he got a red card and he’s missing five games, so he’s a great miss. He is a quality player and he’s someone that we definitely need in our starting line-up.Things havent gone well this year, but I know he’s going to come back fully ready to go.”Despite the setback, Kudus has been training with the Black Stars in Accra as they prepare for their final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.Ghana faces Angola in Luanda on Friday, November 15, before wrapping up the qualifiers against Niger at Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18.
