Meta introduces John Cena, others to voice AI chatbot

American technology company, Meta has unveiled voice clones powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) featuring wrestler and actor, John Cena.

The company also collaborated with other celebrities including Dame Judi Dench, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kristen Bell, an initiative where they will be AI chatbot on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp to improve users’ interaction.

The founder of the company, Mark Zuckerberg disclosed the development while delivering a speech at the Meta Connect 2024 developer conference in Menlo Park, California, USA on Wednesday.

Zuckerberg also announced additional technological breakthroughs, including an upgraded, more affordable Meta Quest headset and enhancements to Meta’s augmented reality RayBan glasses, enabling social media influencers to create AI-powered digital avatars.

The technology is equally capable of auto-translating and dubbing foreign language reels (Meta’s short-form videos) for viewers amongst other features and technologies.

Meta also stated plans to introduce AI-generated content, geared towards users’ interests and trends in Facebook and Instagram feeds, tagged “imagined for you”.
