Messi skips PSG awards to attend Coldplay concert 

After helping Paris Saint-German clinch the Ligue 1 title, Lionel Messi was spotted in Barcelona the next day attending a Coldplay concert.

It was reported that the 35-year-old World Cup winner skipped PSG award ceremony for Coldplay.

Messi scored in PSG 1-1 draw Strasbourg on Saturday night to win his second Ligue 1 title in two years. The goal saw him break Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goals in European football.

The former Barcelona man ejoyed his second season with the French giants having scored a total of 16 goals in the league this season. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is expected to leave PSG this month after being strongly linked with a return to Barcelona.

Last month, Messi was reportedly suspended for two weeks by Paris Saint-Germain after an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia. He went on to apologise after the suspension.

PSG won the league with a game to spare

In a video that was posted on his Instagram, Messi explained why he had to take the trip to the Middle East.

“I want to apologise obviously to my teammates and to the club,” the World Cup winner said in the video on Friday.

“I honestly thought we were going to have the day off after the match as had happened in the previous weeks. I had organised this trip to Saudi Arabia having cancelled it previously. This time I couldn’t cancel it. I am sorry for what I did and I wait to see what the club decides to do,” Messi said.
