Mejja, Femi One light up Tusker Nexterfest, Kisumu edition

The Kisumu edition of the Tusker Nexterfest came to life over the weekend as a artists took to the stage at the Black Pearl Grounds in Kisumu.

The event featured new and established artists including popular Genge artist Mejja and rapper Femi One. The new talents who later took to the stage had already made their debut on the recently concluded Tusker Nexters Auditions. The new artists included Faith Cherotich a.k.a Legally Chubby, Alex Bob Ogolla a.k.a Kamwana, and rapper Timothy Shamah a.k.a TK Lyon.TK Lion.

The Tusker Nexterfest is a platform by KBL through its flagship brand Tusker which aims to give new and upcoming artists an opportunity to showcase their talents. It is a follow-up of the recently concluded Tusker Nexters talent search auditions that seek to give an opportunity to the next generation of Kenyan talent in music and sports. The talent search platform is part of Tusker’s 100-year anniversary campaign.

Speaking during the event, Tusker Brand Shopper Manager, Lennox Chai expressed his delight at the reception of the event, “We are very delighted to offer the new and upcoming talents a platform to express their talents as we celebrate the brand’s 100 years of existence. The reception to their performances has been great and it just proves that they are Kenya’s next big stars in music. The idea behind this event is to not only showcase Tusker’s support for music but to allow these new artists to share a stage with some of Kenya’s big stars and learn how to do and perfect their talents.”

The Tusker NexterFest will culminate in the launch of a brand new, bolder than ever Tusker pack, in line with the brand’s celebration of a century of existence.
