Mamelodi Sundowns star draws interest from top Spanish club
Mamelodi Sundowns star draws interest from top Spanish club, according to Soccer Laduma.
Sundowns midfielder Bathusi Aubaas has caught the eye of a top La Liga club following his exceptional performances for both Sundowns and the South African national team, Bafana Bafana. Sources confirm that a Spanish club has shown significant interest in the defensive midfielder, and the potential for a European move is now on the table.
A well-placed source disclosed that an unnamed La Liga team has reached out about Aubaas. “That club has inquired about Bathusi (Aubaas). You know once they inquire that means there is interest. It doesn’t mean that the deal will happen but it means that the player is doing very well and there is a chance of him moving to Europe,” the source revealed. The inquiry indicates that the young talent is making waves on the international scene, raising his profile as one of South Africa’s most promising players.
Sundowns receive multiple offers, but future uncertain
Sundowns is no stranger to receiving interest from both African and European clubs, particularly regarding standout players like Aubaas. However, the club is cautious when it comes to player transfers, as another source explained: “The club has been receiving inquiries from different clubs (for Aubaas) both in Africa and Europe and they are looking at that but it’s not that easy to just let a player go.” Sundowns remains deliberate about its decisions, ensuring that any potential transfer aligns with their long-term goals.
The source continued, “They want to have a look at players while they are with them before signing (such a player). Then there are other clubs that have inquired about a direct signing without a trial but nothing has really come out of that.” While no direct offers have materialized yet, Aubaas’ recent connection to a La Liga team shows that the interest from Europe is growing.
What’s next for Aubaas? Move to Europe
As the situation develops, all eyes will remain on Bathusi Aubaas and his potential move to Spain. With Sundowns weighing their options and Aubaas shining on both domestic and international stages, the midfielder’s future remains uncertain but promising. Will he make the leap to Europe in the coming months, or will Sundowns hold onto their rising star for a bit longer? Only time will tell.
