Mamelodi Sundowns academy product resurfaces in Upington!
Mamelodi Sundowns academy product Promise Mkhuma has resurfaced in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
On Tuesday, Mkhuma was unveiled as Upington City’s newest signing. He had been on the sidelines since his exit from Sundowns.
He now gets the opportunity to revive his career and possibly reach his fullest potential without any pressure.
Mkhuma burst into the professional scene with Sundowns in 2020, and expectations were that he would thrive at the club.
This was after catching the eyes of many while playing for the Sundowns DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team.
At the time, Mkhuma alongside Keletso Makgalwa were turning heads, but their careers went almost the same direction.
Ironically, Makgalwa also played for Upington City before moving to TS Galaxy and now Sekhukhune United.
What makes things difficult for Mkhuma sometimes, could be the fact that he never scored or assisted any goal whilst at Sundowns.
Mkhuma, 24, featured in 23 competitive matches for Sundowns – mostly as a substitute – and failed to find the back of the net.
