Lutalo Names Provisional Squad for CECAFA, AWCON Tournaments

Crested Cranes head coach George Lutalo has summoned 47 players to begin preparations for the 2022 CECAFA Women Championship and Total Energies Women Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The squad boosts of players featuring in the domestic League (FUFA Women Super League) and 14 professional players.

The 11 foreign based players are Ruth Aturo, Vanessa Edith Karungi, Yudaya Nakayenze, Salena Allibhai, Adrine Birungi, Madam Christine, Joan Nabirye, Sheebah Zalwango, Tracy Jones Akiror, Juliet Nalukenge, Natasha Shirazi, Fauzia Najjemba, Viola Nambi and Ritah Kivumbi.

Uganda will host the CECAFA Women’s Championship scheduled to take place at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru between 22nd May to 5th June 2022.

It will serve as a precursor to the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations tournament that will be held from 2nd-23rd July in Morocco.

The team will enter residential camp on May 7 at FUFA technical centre in Njeru.
