Lukwago Taken to Nairobi Hospital over ‘Respiratory System Conditions’

Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has been evacuated to Nairobi Hospital in Kenya for a medical checkup.

“He (Lukwago isn’t in critical condition,” said Elvis Nsonyi, the Mayor’s close aide.

“But he has gone to Nairobi (not rushed) to do a comprehensive medical checkup to assess what causes allergic reactions that affects his respiratory system and causes general body weakness,” Nsonyi told ChimpReports this Wednesday afternoon.

The development has raised fears that Lukwago contracted COVID-19.

But Nsonyi sought to dispel such rumours, saying, “He isn’t in any form of danger nor that he is critically ill.”

Lukwago has been campaigning in Kampala to retain his mayoral position.

Cases of COVID-19 have been on a rise in Uganda’s capital city with authorities urging the public to abide by prevention guidelines.
