Valentine’s Month ends on 28 February which means love is still in the air! We’ve looked at expensive gifts and couples who have reunited, but what about our favourite LGBTQI+ couples?
Although two couples live in the United Kingdom, they are certainly still worth a mention on our list. Here are six LGTQI+ couples we can’t stop gushing over.
1. CASTER SEMENYA AND VIOLET RASEBOYA
Olympic gold medallist Caster Semenya and her wife Violet Raseboya tied the knot in 2015. The following year, Caster told the Sunday Times that she met Violet when she was about 15 years old. At the time, she had a leather bracelet from Violet with the words “I love you Caster” engraved on it.
“It symbolises her love for me. It’s my lucky charm, I wear it all the time,” said Caster.
The couple has two children together.
2. MARC LOTTERING AND ANWAR MCKAY
Star comedian Marc Lotttering and theatre producer Anwar McKay got married in 2010. The couple had already been together for 12 years.
Speaking to Sunday World last year, Loitering described McKay as “the dearest person to him.”
3. SUNETTE VILJOEN AND LIMARI LOUW
South African sportswoman Sunette Viljoen and her partner, television presenter LiMari Louw, have been together since 2012.
Much like Caster Semenya and Violet Raseboya, the couple prefers to stay away from the limelight.
4. LANGA MAVUSO AND LENTSWE BHENGU
Star singer Langa Mavuso and celebrity chef Lentswe Bhengu have been in a relationship for some time now but they’ve kept their love on the low. They often share pictures of their beautiful vacations on Instagram.
According to Briefly, Langa has even serenaded Lentswe with his amazing voice on an Instagram story.
5. SADE GILIBERTI AND CHANÉ SCALLEN
Former YoTV presenter Sade Giliberti and her partner Chané Scallen currently live in London in the United Kingdom. Giliberti came out queer when she was 19 years old.
The couple is happy and in love. They gush over each other often on Instagram. As they said goodbye to 2021, Sade penned a heartfelt message to Chané writing:
“Thank you for indulging me, laughing with me, crying with me, teaching me new things and growing alongside me.”
6. TOYA DELAZY AND ALISSON CHAIG
South African-born singer-songwriter Toya Delazy and her long-term partner Alisson Chaig tied the knot in 2021 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends. They celebrated their 10-year anniversary in October and the Pump It On hitmaker penned a beautiful message to her wife.
“A decade of love. I thank the universe for blessing me with you – always yours,” wrote Toya.
