Livid Leon Schuster slams death hoax, threatens to ‘beat’ troll

Leon Schuster has slammed another death hoax about it, going as far as to threaten to beat up the troll who started the nasty rumour.

The South African comedian is recovering from two back surgeries and gearing up for a third after he injured himself on the set of Mr Bones 3.

Over the years, numerous death hoaxes about the screen star have gone viral.

LEON SCHUSTER SLAMS ANOTHER DEATH HOAX

In a Facebook post over the weekend, Leon Schuster slammed the troll who kickstarted a rumour that he had died.

He shared in Afrikaans: “I hear I’m dead again. What crazy person posts stuff like this?”

Becoming angry, he continued, “I will kick him there so that he will never be able to have children again. It’s not nice when your people call you and say, ‘I’m so happy to hear your voice. ‘

“This is the sixth time this has happened. Luckily, a cat has nine lives, so at least I have three left! Thank you for your inquiries and your concern and love – these are TRUE friends”.

Ek hoor ek is alweer ‘oorlede.’ Watter mal kop plaas sulke goed? Ek Sal hom daar skop waar hy nooit weer kinders sal kan…

It’s not the first time the comedian has rubbished rumours of his “death.”

In 2012 and 2014, reports of the actor’s death were widely circulated on the Blackberry message service called BBM.

Then, in 2017, a similar message claiming Leon Schuster had died in a car accident spread like wildfire on WhatsApp. In 2021, the funny man had to distinguish the wildfire that he had tragically passed.

He said in a social media post of the “prank”:  “Can you imagine how your heart would feel if they said it to you? It’s not a nice thing to hear. The word ‘death’ doesn’t sit well with me.”

“It’s a blatant infringement of a person’s humanity; I also have a heart and soul, and I also get flippen hurt.”

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES

Speaking to TimesLive earlier this month, Leon Schuster revealed he was not only suffering from back injuries but also depression after becoming immobile.

He’s also been diagnosed as overweight and will have to shed the kilos before he can have another back surgery.

He said: “I’m eating very little. I’m on these diet injections, but I’m not feeling that I am losing weight. I have been in the gym my whole life, and all of a sudden, there’s complete inactivity. I have to lie on my bed. I can sit for an hour, then I have to lie down again because the pain is eating me up.”

“The whole process is being postponed, and I’m depressed about that. My life is standing still. My creative life is standing still. I cannot create anything when I’m feeling like this, and all these tablets I have to take to suppress the pain are not good for me, but I don’t have a choice because they give you some relief, but they stuff up your stomach and mental frame of mind.

However, a close friend claims that Leon Schuster has returned to good spirits.

Filmmaker Asgar Mahomed recently visited the comedian and found that his “resilience shines brighter than ever.”

He shared in a Facebook post of his pal: “His determination is unwavering.

“It’s not just about the physical healing; Leon’s indomitable spirit is a testament to his character. He remains upbeat, tackling each day with a winner’s mindset. His story is one of courage, hope, and the power of a positive outlook.”

During my visit today with the renowned actor Leon Schuster, I was greeted with the same vibrant spirit and warm smile…
