Liverpool are the Carabao Cup champions following their 11-10 penalty shootout win over Chelsea in the final on Sunday.
The two sides played to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes, and the game had to go to extra time but neither of them could find the back of the net.
And the match had to be decided on penalties with Kepa Arrizabalaga coming on late in extra time to replace Edouard Mendy for the shootout.
However, it wasn’t to be as Kepa couldn’t save a single penalty while he missed the deciding spot-kick after his teammates had scored all their penalties.
CHELSEA BEATEN TO CARABAO CUP BY LIVERPOOL
Jürgen Klopp would be proud that he has delivered another trophy to the Liverpool cabinet, especially at the expense of the world champions.
A few weeks ago, Chelsea lifted the FIFA Club World Cup, but this was always expected to be a tricky encounter for them.
This is Klopp’s fifth major piece of silverware having won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup at Liverpool.
