Liberia: Sen. Prince Moye Vows to Complete Stalled Kayata Clinic Project

Senator Moye said his intervention was triggered by the numerous challenges residents of Kayata face to acquire medications due to the prolonged delay of the clinic completion.

He assured inhabitants of the town that the clinic will be completed and dedicated with the necessary drugs and equipment to begin effective operations.

It can be recalled that the project commenced 2020 but later stalled that same year.

The Bong County Senator has instructed the superintendent to review the county resolution to assess the total amount owed to contractors, which caused them to abandon the project, in order to clear the outstanding liabilities.

During the 2020 County Development Sitting, delegates apportioned $25,000 for the construction of the Kayata Clinic, but only $15,000 was paid to the contractors.

Senator Prince Moye stated that the immediate past government allegedly dished out several millions dollars during the 2023 campaign in the county but did not consider the health needs of the people.

“The money they were sharing and using to buy cows could be used to finish this clinic but they did not care about the health needs of the people”.

As Senator Moye is concerned about the clinic completion, he has constituted a committee to spearhead the initiative.

He named former Bong County Senator Henrique Tokpa as head of the committee, owing to his advocacy for the completion of the project even though his efforts were greeted with stave resistance.
