As part of the restructuring process of the agency, President Boakai also relieved Colonel Abraham Kromah of his position as Director General, along with Mr. Hassan Fadiga and Mr. Gbawou Kowou, who held the positions of Deputy Director General for Operations and Deputy Director General for Administration, respectively.
These actions follow a report from the Ministry of Justice detailing an investigation into a disturbance at the LDEA headquarters on June 3, 2024, which resulted in the suspension of the former leadership.
President Boakai condemned the “acts of disorder and chaos” that occurred, deeming them “unacceptable” and detrimental to public safety as well as the government’s efforts to combat illicit drug activity.
The President, however, emphasized the need for all government officials to adhere to the highest standards of diligence, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in their service to the nation.
