The community leaders over the weekend presented their development agenda to the office of their District Representative through her Chief of Staff, Freddie ZayZay, during a press conference with stakeholders of the district in Kakata, Margibi County.

Earlier this month, Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh convened her first District Development sitting in her second term, to allow district residents to propose projects to her office for onward submission to the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) under the budgeted US$100,000 to the district.

It can be recalled, the 55th National Legislature through the House of Representatives allotted $13.2 million in the 2024 National Budget for Legislative projects for the purpose of decentralization and grassroots development across the 73 Districts of Liberia.

The Margibi District Three leadership in the District Development Sitting resolution, signed by the majority members, outlined the priority developments for the district, including the construction of a district headquarters with a library for students, a bridge connecting Mandingo Quarter and Dartu Town Communities—and the fencing of the Wenneta Community football pitch.

“The public serves as a watchdog for ensuring that we make the right decision affecting our people and district, we again resolve to affix our signatures to this document making it legal to the public.”, they asserted.

Meanwhile, Margibi District Three residents have extolled Rep. Attoh-Wreh for involving them in the decision-making process of their district. They noted that the resolution will now guide their district representative to oversee and ensure the implementation of various development projects and initiatives within the district.
