The distribution is part of a larger consignment valued at $450,000, recently acquired by the JNB Foundation from CURE, a U.S.-based charity project based in Colorado.

The foundation plans to distribute additional supplies to other government-run hospitals across Liberia, including Phebe Hospital in Bong County, Liberia Government Hospital in Grand Bassa County, and Redemption Hospital in Montserrado County.

During the presentation ceremony, Jackson George, Executive Director of the JNB Foundation, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to enhancing healthcare in Margibi County.

“We are not here to do what the government is supposed to do, but we are here to supplement government efforts in providing healthcare delivery to the people. We intend to partner with the hospital to do more,” he stated.

For his part, Tamba Cembianor, the Medical Director of the JNB Foundation, elaborated on the significance of the donation, highlighting that it includes both medical supplies and equipment crucial for critical medical procedures.

He pledged the foundation’s continued support in addressing the healthcare needs at C.H. Rennie Memorial Hospital and other health facilities across the country.

At the same time, Mr. Cembianor delivered the full list of the donated items to the Medical Director of the hospital, to ensure transparency and accountability to the general public and the donors as well.

In response to the donation, Dr. Wilmot G. Frank, Jr., Medical Director of C.H. Rennie Memorial Referral Hospital expressed profound gratitude to the JNB Foundation and its founder, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

He described the donation as a “life-saving initiative” and expressed hope for continued support from the foundation to enhance healthcare services for the people of Margibi County and beyond.

Also, Dr. Doryea F.W. Kabah, Margibi County Health Officer, also acknowledged the generous donation, describing it as a significant boost to the county’s healthcare system, especially in light of recent challenges faced by the hospital.

“These donations are the kinds of medical supplies that the hospital and county health team have been looking forward to. We hope this will not be the last,” Dr. Kabah remarked, assuring that the supplies would be used for their intended purposes.

The donation comes as critical support to the Margibi Health System, which has been grappling with various challenges, including the aftermath of a fire that damaged the Charles Henry Memorial Referral Hospital and has since moved to a temporary site at the Kakata Health Center.
