Hundreds of Blebo Town residents in district #1, Grand Kru County are appealing to the Ministry of Health, Humanitarian organizations, local and international NGOs to quickly come to their rescue by providing hand pumps for safe drinking water in the area.
Our Correspondent who visited the area notices that due to the lack of safe drinking water, many of the residents are using unhygienic creek water to drink, and to cook, therefore many of them who spoke to the GNN are appealing to authority to immediately come to their rescue before it is late.
“We are actually finding it difficult to get safe drinking water because most of our pumps are not functioning properly, therefore, many of us are using Creeks water for drinking purposes. the citizens in their huge number outlined.
Addressing news men in Blebo town was one of the residents Luciana S. Brown who disclosed that the town is currently undergoing serious challenged concerning safe drinking water.“We need the intervention of the Liberian government because our challenges here are numerals, we have few hand pumps but they are insufficient and not functioning properly to supply the entire Community with safe drinking water, some of the residents due to the lack of sufficient hand pump are drinking from the creek,” Miss: Brown told journalists.
Miss. Brown appreciating the journalists who paid a visit to the town, said, “Let me say thanks to the journalists that came to know our problem in Blebo town, I am please indeed to inform you that we the people of Blebo town are in dare need of additional hand pumps; this will help to avoid us going to the Creeks for water” she told journalists in a sad mood.
Blebo is one of the largest and oldest towns in district 1 Grand Kru County that contained huge number of people in that part of the County.
