Liberia: Court Issues Writ of Arrest For Former Presidential Candidate Wendell McIntosh Over Alleged Illegal Sale of Land In Margibi
Monrovia—The Paynesville Magisterial Court in Montserrado County has issued a writ of arrest for Wendell McIntosh, a former presidential candidate for the Change Democratic Action (CDA) party in the 2017 elections, and his wife, Weekie McIntosh.

They are charged with felonious restraint and disorderly conduct amidst allegations of illegal land sales in Margibi County.
A court document obtained by FrontPage Africa states that the McIntoshs are currently evading arrest.
The order, signed by Associate/Stipendiary Magistrate George Smith on May 24, 2018, mandates that the Liberia National Police detain the couple if apprehended outside regular working hours, with instructions to bring them to court on the next business day.
The writ was issued following a complaint filed by a private prosecutor who swore an affidavit alleging that the McIntoshs engaged in illegal activities concerning land transactions.
This is not the first time McIntosh has faced controversy. Before entering the 2017 presidential race, he was accused by former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai of soliciting a bribe of $30,000 for the successful execution of the Lofa County rice project—an allegation McIntosh has strongly denied.
Additionally, he was criticized for allegedly undermining the implementation of the ADA Lofa Rice Project during his tenure as coordinator between LABSWISS and the program.
