Lena Marshall Foundation Gives out Christmas Food Parcels to Women and children
Pipeline Community, Paynesville – The Lena Marshall Foundation on the eve of Christmas distributed food parcels amongst a group of women and children in the Pipeline community Paynesville outside of Monrovia.
The parcels included rice, frozen chicken and assorted sweets for the kids.
Introducing the foundation and stating its purpose in the community, the Youth Ambassador of the foundation, Miss Euphemia Reeves, thanked the community members for their presence at the distribution site at the same time extended season greetings on behalf of the foundation.
Miss Reeves stated that one of the main objectives of the foundation was to help the less privileged in the society.
“We also render services to young women and the disable community as well,” stated Reeves.
For her part, the chairlady of District 3, Montserrado County Kula Morris who is also a resident of the Pipeline community appreciated the foundation on behalf of those who benefited from the distribution and appealed to the team to always come back to give to their community because Life is difficult for them most times.
“We do not have any current and the place is always dark, which is not a good sign for us women especially; and we do not have safe drinking water here, only wells and we drink the well water,” explained Madame.
Giving an overview of the Foundation, the Founder, Madame Lena Marshall stated that her team set up the Foundation to help women, girls, and children in low and middle-income countries to make their lives better.
Madame Marshall added that the foundation is also committed to reaching out to those most in need by turning the fundamental values such as human dignity, solidarity, and hope into opportunities for our women and children to improve their lives.
She, however, recognized all her supporters and donors as the year comes to an end and also the Ambassador-at-Large of the foundation, Madam Sarah Güsten-Marr.
“I chose our ambassador Sarah Güsten-Marr to represent LMF because she is a wonderful inspiration to so many women and children. Sarah was adopted as a tiny baby from Liberia by her loving German parents. She is a cultural artist who lives an international life and supports LMF from her international art sales. We are delighted to have her support,” explain Madame Marshall.
She added: “Thank you to The Liberian Enterprise Development Finance Company (LEDFC), through the kind instrumentality of their General Manager Mr. Ambrose Houphouet, they donated towards our initiatives.”
