Nomvula Mdluli, a woman from KwaMthethwa in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has tragically died in a freak accident involving a water tanker on Monday, 4 July.
The 38-year-old woman was reportedly hit by a water tanker while fetching water.
KZN WOMAN DRAGGED BY A WATER TANKER
According to 1KZNTV News, Mdluli was in the queue to fetch water from the truck when her jersey got hooked on the vehicle.
The driver did not see her as he proceeded to move the truck, resulting in her being dragged and pulled under the wheel.
“The Mlungwana family is asking for assistance with funeral arrangements from anyone who can help as nobody in the household earns an income,” the television news station said.

WOMAN KILLED AFTER COLLIDING WITH A TANKER
Recently, a woman in her thirties was killed in a collision on Todd Street in the vicinity of Oaklands in KZN. The woman, who was driving a VW Polo, collided with a water tanker belonging to the eThekwini Municipality.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), its members arrived on scene at approximately 18:59. They found that the driver of the extensively damaged silver VW Polo had been fatally injured.
“It is alleged that the light motor vehicle was travelling in the direction of Redcliffe – KZN when it collided into a water tanker belonging to the eThekwini Municipality that was proceeding in the opposite direction.
“The occupants of the water tanker were not injured.”
