Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum calls for improved goalscoring after loss to Legon Cities
Prosper Narteh OgumAsante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum has acknowledged the teams need to improve their goalscoring after a narrow 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities on Wednesday.Kotoko have scored only one goal per game so far this season, with eight goals in eight games, a pattern that proved costly as Legon Cities beat them in Legon. The home side took the lead in the 22nd minute through Albert Yeboah, as the Porcupine Warriors struggled to find momentum throughout the match and only managed to equalise in the 76th minute, thanks to Albert Amoah’s goal. However, their hopes were dashed when Abdul Rahman scored in stoppage time, securing a win for Legon Cities.Reflecting on Kotoko’s challenges in front of goal, Ogum said, “We still have to work on our goalscoring. For me, one thing Im happy about is when we play, we create, and when we create, it is an indication that on a very good day, you can score. Its the work of the coach and technical team, so we keep working.”Kotoko will be looking to turn things around as they prepare for their upcoming match against Hearts of Lions.
