Earlier this week, Springbok No 8 Duane Vermeulen offered words of support to his former national team-mate Jannie du Plessis, whose youngest son, who was just over 10 months old, tragically drowned on Tuesday evening.
Kolisi echoed those sentiments on Friday, admitting the tragic news was something the Springbok team had spoken about this week.
“There are lots of guys here who are very close to Jannie, and who played with him in the past. It really makes you think of your own loved ones, it’s really tough, and our thoughts are with him and his family.
“It does give us motivation to play for them. He is a Springbok who has given so much to this jersey, and as a Springbok family, we go through the good and bad together.”
The Springboks are set to face England on Saturday at Twickenham, with kick off at 17:15 SA time.
