K***nina zenu – Mike Sonko attacks Standard Newspaper with unprintable over headline with explosive tweet
Embattled Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday 18 November 2020 went after the Standard Newspaper over a headline that appeared to narrate his problems since becoming the County boss.
The headline titled The Wailing Governor did not sit well with the former Makadara Member of Parliament as it purported that he was reduced from a County boss to a mare man with no powers.
Sonko pointed out that some people were busy buying headlines against him instead of using the taxpayers’ money wisely by giving free masks and sanitizers to the public as the country fights the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Kumanina zenu gazeti ni za kufunga nyama. Instead of using taxpayers’ money to give free masks and sanitizers to the public during this covid-19 period you are busy buying headlines against me. Shame on you kumanyoko nyinyi siku yenu itafika,” read governor Sonko’s tweet.
Earlier this week, Sonko declared that he will not bow down to intimidation from his political enemies and vowed to not break the Constitution to please others.
While speaking in a zoom meeting held by the Health Senate Committee, the Governor revealed that he has been trying to come up with solutions so that Nairobi residents can enjoy the County’s services but the meetings bare no fruits.
“I have pursued amicable solutions but what happens when we attend the meetings to find these amicable solutions so that Nairobians enjoy good services, we differ with them on the law. What follows is a lot of intimidation and threats.”
“The dark days are over. I will not allow intimidation from anyone. Let them legalize NMS, then I will give them the money. No amount of intimidation will force me to breach the law by giving funds to an illegal entity,” Sonko declared.
Sonko declared that he is ready to be imprisoned, jailed, or killed for doing the right thing as there is life after politics and death.
