Kenya edges out Uganda to retain Elgon Cup
The National men’s 15 aside Rugby team,the Kenya Simbas have retained the Elgon cup trophy after mauling the Uganda Cranes 21-5 in the second leg match played today at the Kings Park in Kampala, Uganda .
Ephraim Oduor,Vice captain Eugene Sifuna and youngster Andy Cole Omollo scored the all important tries for the Kenyan team coached by Jerome Paarwaters as Timothy Okwemba made sure the conversions went through.
Uganda earned their consolation through Sydney Gongokyo.
The Kenya Simbas went into the match determined to give it all after they narrowly won the first leg 27-25 in a thrilling contest played at the RFUEA Grounds a week ago.
Their determination bore fruit as they were crowned the Elgon cup champions for another consecutive year after a 48-30 aggregate win over the Uganda cranes.
