Karua asks Mt Kenya to reject Ruto, claims DP undermined President Kenyatta

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Deputy Presidential candidate Martha Karua welcomed her principal Raila Odinga to Kirinyaga, her home county, Thursday as the two conclude their three-day political tour of Mt. Kenya.

Karua used the opportunity to implore residents of Central Kenya to reject United Democratic Alliance Presidential candidate William Ruto for allegedly being ‘ungrateful and disrespectful’. She reiterated that Ruto doesn’t deserve the support of Mt Kenya region arguing that he undermined President Uhuru Kenyatta when he was given a chance to work with the head of state.

“Kenya doesn’t have a co-presidency. When you are appointed a deputy you should remain a deputy. You cannot be waking up every morning to criticize your boss. If you don’t have respect for your boss, you also don’t deserve to be respected even as you look to be President.” she said

Addressing a rally in Kagio market, Karua called on the electorate to rally behind Raila notng that the ODM leader has their best interests at heart.

“We are respectable. We are here to unite Kenyans and take care of your resources. What Raila Odinga has promised is true, we intend to safeguard your resources against corruption and misuse.” she said

Karua added; “Raila is a mature and experienced leader. He is a performer and calm in all he does. He is not easily angered like our competitors are. I am confident you will vote for us and we will win.”
