Kajoba Expects Improved Return Leg Performance Against Al Hilal

Vipers Sports Club head coach Fred Kajoba believes that qualification is not yet decided going into their CAF Champions League return leg tie against Al Hilal Omdurman.

The Venoms were on Saturday condemned by Sudan’s side Al Hilal Omdurman 0-1 at their fortress St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende denting their hopes of advancing to the second preliminary round.

Despite the home defeat, the Uganda Cranes goalkeepers’ coach is positive about rectifying the small mistakes made on Saturday and anticipates a better showing in the return leg.

“We didn’t play good football in the first half and I felt some of the players were below par in the first half and I thought they were not at the level required to play at Vipers. However, I liked how we handled the second half and I thought we were a better side,” Kajoba told the press during the post match interview

“We created about six goal scoring chances but didn’t convert them and that gives me a lot of confidence in the team that we can build on that and turn around this fixture next Saturday,” he added.

The aggregate winner between Vipers SC and Al Hilal Omdurman on Saturday 6th December will play either Mauritania’s Nouadhibour or Asante Kotoko from Ghana on the second preliminary round.
