Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Two attacking midfielders
The January window is almost a month away. All eyes are on Kaizer Chiefs to make statement signings.
NASREDDINE NABI SCOUTING WORLD MARKET FOR PLAYERS
The club’s new coach, Nasreddine Nabi, confirmed to the media that his squad needs continued improvement.
“I think we haven’t finished changing the squad,” Nabi said after Kaizer Chiefs signed Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortely, Inacio Miguel, Gaston Sirino and Njabulo Blom before the season started in September.
“For all decisions, the direction of my eyes is for the best for Chiefs. It is not to be friendly, not to be emotional. For that reason, moving the squad won’t stop window after window.
“Maybe for a player not at our level there will be another opportunity, they will be out.
“People were pushing to see a striker before the last window (closed), but the opportunities were very bad.
“In October, we don’t play many games, and then there is November and December, and after that (in January), a new window will open, and we will have the opportunity to scout the world for the best players,” the Tunisian added.
ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS LINKED WITH KAIZER CHIEFS
Looking at the current Amakhosi squad, most of the existing attacking midfielders don’t seem to be on coach Nabi’s plans. While Gaston Sirino has surprisingly been playing wide, the 20-year-old youngster Mduduzi Shabalala has been carrying the number 10 responsibility ahead of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
Despite recent injury spells, the likes of Mduduzi Mdantsane and George Matlou were not creating any magic under previous coaches.
Meanwhile, local outlets have reported that Kaizer Chiefs are linked with two number 10s:
- Percy Tau, 30, Al Ahly (Egypt)
- Puso Dithejane, 20, TS Galaxy.
