Kaizer Chiefs to announce 20-year-old star?

As reported last weekend, the Kaizer Chiefs senior team travelled to the Home of Legends Cup in the Eastern Cape with two young players. Here’s an update on Xolani Cossa.

KAIZER CHIEFS TECHNICAL TEAM IMPRESSED WITH XOLANI COSSA

The academy’s last promotion announcement was Mfundo Vilakazi late last season. Before him was Mduduzi Shabalala, and Wandile Duba. This new report believes that the 20-year-old left-footed central defender Xolani Cossa is next.

It is further said that Kaizer Chiefs plan to make Cossa an understudy to Rushwin Dortley.

KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET RETURNING TO TUNISIA

Three days is a long time in the football business. Kaizer Chiefs target Elias Mokwana is suddenly set to return to Esperance.

Mokwana, who was heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs, is set to stay at Esperance in Tunisia.

The 25-year-old made a R7 million move to Tunis from Sekhukhune United in August after the club rejected Kaizer Chiefs’ offer.

As reported last Friday, the player’s attorney, Kabelo Mashigo, said the Tunisian giants breached the contract after failing to make payments for the KwaMhlanga-born winger.

“Much of the issues are confidential,” Mashigo told SABC Sports’ Mazola Molefe last week.

“But I can confirm that the club is in breach of the agreement. We provided them with notice to rectify the breach. They have not complied, leaving the player with no option but to accept the repudiation. Elias is focusing on the call-up now and once that is done, we will consider the next step,” Mashigo added.

UPDATE: MOKWANA STAYING

With 72 hours gone, Mashigo has since revealed that the matter has been resolved. Mokwana is set to return to Esperance after Bafana Bafana’s match against South Sudan on Tuesday.

“On Friday we had a discussion with the club, and we were able to find each other,” Mashigo said.

“The club has essentially rectified its breach, meaning they are no longer in breach and have complied with the terms of the contract to date.

Mashigo concluded: “Elias will be returning to Tunis to fulfil his obligations as per the contract once he is done with national duty,” his attorney assured the public broadcaster.
