Kaizer Chiefs targeting PSL veteran, former league winner
Kaizer Chiefs want former Mamelodi Sundowns star Bongani Zuni.
The 32-year-old, who has played in France, Scotland and Portugal, is currently a free agent, prompting AmaKhosi management to monitor the PSL winner.
“It’s true there has been interest in Bongani Zung by Chiefs, but there be a lot that has to change at Chiefs for them to then actually sign Zungu,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
“They are first looking at loaning out some players in that position like Sibongiseni “Ox” Mthethwa or Samkelo Zwane and then if something happens in that respect, then the club will be able to sign Zungu.
“So, at the moment, it all depends on if Kaizer Chiefs can create space that can accommodate the signing of a new midfielder like Zungu. So, as much as they are interested in Zungu because of his experience, they are looking at how that could happen if they are to go ahead with signing Zungu.”
Bayern Munich targeting Mudua
In other news, Khuliso Mudua is reportedly attracting interest from Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich – the Belgium manager was said to be keen on signing him during his Burnley tenure but nothing materialized.
SoccerLaduma said, “Yes, there is interest from Germany. Actually, it’s Bayern Munich. Their coach Vincent Kompany is a big fan of Sailor (Mudau). He was actually the one who inquired about him while he was still the coach at Burnley FC in England. And now that he has moved to Bayern Munich he has continued to monitor him. There is nothing official at the moment but we are looking forward to something positive. He is very good and a modern right back who is more like Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool who is good in defending and very good in attack and putting in those effective crosses for strikers. That’s what seems to have attracted the Bayern Munich coach.”
Do you think Zuni will move to Kaizer Chiefs?
